As a boomer I am becoming more and more aware how important it is to stay active for health and for balance. Let me share this with you.
When I was younger I exercised many hours a day and walked for miles. I practiced Tai Chi and Qigong. But as time went on, and life got in the way, my exercising became less and less.
At the start of the New Year I decided it was time to get active again (the idea of falling really got me motivated). So in the morning, in my living room, I started doing some stretches and leg work. Sort of like walk on the spot but adding arm work with it.
Then I started raising my knees up, one at a time, and then lifting my leg back to touch my ‘butt’ while moving my arms.
As I moved my arms the feeling of Tai Chi and Qigong work that I had done years past came flooding back. I started to pay attention to that feeling and it was wonderful. So I decided to go out and find something that would help bring me back to those practices.
This is what I found and want to share with you.
